We're a local, independent, mutual building society. With no shareholders, we're committed to providing benefit for our customers and having a positive impact on our local communities.
Our purpose statement outlines our commitment to our members.
We offer attractive mortgage and savings products, supported by excellent customer service and underpinned by straightforward advice.
We have an active community and charity programme, supporting the communities where our members and employees live and work through financial support, volunteering, and fundraising.
We are proud of our financial education programme, Junior Newbury Building Society (JNBS), with works with local primary schools, and our partnership with WizeUp, which provides financial education to secondary school pupils.
We also believe we have a role to play in tackling climate change, and we care about protecting the earth we live on for future generations. Our Green Ambition outlines how we are working toward this.
Providing excellent customer service is at the centre of everything we do. We work hard to maintain high standards of service we are known for whilst responding to the evolving landscape. We gained a distinction-level ServiceMark accreditation from the Institute of Customer Service in 2022 and a Treating Customers Fairly Award at the British Bank Awards in 2024.
We also ask our members to help shape the future of the Society. Our Member Forum provides the opportunity to help shape our products, services, and communications, and our Member Talk events allow members to hear about our current plans and ask questions in person.
Whilst embracing modern technology, the Society still retains good customer contact using traditional methods. Privileged to be a Newbury Building Society member.
