Learning and development

We have a strong culture of teamwork and mutual respect and will support you as you settle in.

When you join us you will receive a comprehensive induction, as well as a personal development plan tailored to your needs.

These will help you to get up to speed with our culture and values, products and services, systems and processes.

Whatever your role in the Society, your personal development plan will help you manage your progress and career path. There will be opportunities for you to take on more responsibility and participate in projects and initiatives, to further your experience.

  • Our training accreditation by the Financial Services National College (FSNC) gives us independent recognition of the high quality of our learning and development that supports both new and existing employees, while at the same time, helping us to deliver our business objectives.

  • We are the first Building Society to use “Nelly”, an online knowledge booster which helps us gain and retain the knowledge we need to do our jobs.

  • You can keep up to date with the accomplishments of our employees, our social events and our charitable and community activities on our website and social media channels, as well as our intranet, employee newsletter, and quarterly conference call.

  • SkillsServe, our bespoke online learning system, not only ensures that employees remain up to date on all the important regulatory aspects of working for the Society, but also provides a wealth of optional, personal development modules which can be easily accessed and downloaded, putting you firmly in control of your career.

We are keen for employees to become both academically and professionally qualified. Learning and development is important to us and we want it to be important to you too.
