Background and experience
Before starting at the Society in September 2017, I worked for a Public Relations agency based in Reading for three years. It was my responsibility to conduct both media and stakeholder relations for a range of business-to-business and consumer brands. Using storytelling - bad news, human interest, topicality - I would draft a range of content to increase the visability of the brand in the community as well as improve its digital presence. I am also a CIPD accredited B2B and B2C Storyteller.
Newbury Building Society is an exciting place to work. As a business that is continuously growing with the development of innovative products, community engagement and charity support, there is always a wide range of stories to get stuck into and promote the Society to the outside world.
Role and responsibilities
I am responsible for the running of the Society's Press Office and PR strategy as well as the creation of external marketing collateral, digital copywriting, brand awareness and internal communications.
