Newbury Building Society and AHPphotography have selected their finalists for the photography competition #HeartNBS, which aims to champion Central Southern England’s awe-inspiring beauty spots.
The theme of the competition was ‘Home is where the heart is’, with the Society looking for beautiful photographs of Central Southern England, in particular those taken in and around its eleven branch towns. These are: Abingdon, Alton, Andover, Basingstoke, Didcot, Hungerford, Newbury, Thatcham, Whitchurch, Winchester and Wokingham.
A judging panel made up from representatives of Newbury Building Society and AHPphotography reviewed all entries and selected the 21 best based on the following criteria: composition, originality, public appeal and suitability for inclusion in a calendar.
Those entries have made it through to stage two, and the public are now asked to vote for their favourite snaps via social media and on the Society’s website, newbury.co.uk. Simply visit the website to view all 21 finalists, pick your favourite then email marketing@newbury.co.uk, making sure you mention the entry number and name of photographer. Alternatively, you can ‘like’ your favourite photo on the Society’s Facebook page or ‘favourite’ the snap when you follow the Society’s Twitter page, using @NewburyBS.
The top fifteen selected by the public vote will appear in the Newbury Building Society Calendar for 2016. The judges will also choose their favourite entry to be the overall winner of the competition. The winning photographer will receive a portrait package and photography training, courtesy of AHPphotography.
