Five colleagues completed a 13.8-mile walk along the Kennet and Avon canal footpath on Sunday 13 June 2021.
Seven colleagues from our Abingdon and Didcot branch took part in a 4K fun run around the grounds of Blenheim Palace on Sunday 23 May 2021 to fundraise for their branch charity partner, Helen & Douglas House.
Helen & Douglas House is a local charity who help families cope with the challenges of looking after terminally ill children by providing hospice and palliative care.
Our fun runners - Tina Stephens, Hannah Tame, Eileen Clark, Julie Harris, Tina Maughan, Samantha James, Sarah Walls, Catherine Newitt, and Chelsea Ford - raised £472.76, which will be fund-matched by the Executive team to make a total of £945.52 raised!
Well done to all those who took part, including our two four-legged friends, Pebbles and Molly! And also, thanks to those donated. A great team effort!
Here is what a few of our fun-runners had to say:
“I loved the walk and would certainly do it again. What an amazing amount to raise. Well done all!!!!” – Sarah Walls
“It was lovely to get together with everyone after not seeing so many colleagues for so long, and to raise money for such a worthy local charity. We beat the rain and raised an impressive amount for Helen and Douglas Hospice. Thank you to everyone who took part and donated.” – Catherine Newitt
“It is great to build relationships between head office and branches whilst raising much needed funds, getting some fresh air at a gorgeous venue - and do not believe the weather forecast.” – Tina Stephens
“We all had a great time, and the weather was very kind to us. It was also good to catch up with other members of the society who we don't get to see very often and raise funds for a fantastic cause at the same time.” – Samantha James
