What is a username?
A username is a unique identifier for each customer that is required each time you log in. This will be issued in the first email to you following registration for online services. Your username cannot be changed. Make sure you keep it safe.
Why do I need a password?
A password is a crucial piece of information that is used to identify that an individual is who they claim to be. Your password must be kept secret at all times and you should never disclose your security details to anyone. We will never ask you for your password or memorable information over the telephone.
Passwords must be between 8 and 16 characters, a mixture of upper and lower case letters and at least one number and a special character e.g.!£$#@&*^ %
Will I need memorable information?
Your memorable information acts as an extra piece of security information to keep your details - and your money - safe. Like your password, it must be kept secret at all times and you should never disclose your security details to anyone. We will never ask you for your password or memorable information over the telephone.
Will I be logged out of myaccounts automatically?
Yes, after 20 minutes you will be logged out automatically. This is a security measure in case you leave your computer unattended.
We recommend that you always fully log out of myaccounts as it may be possible for someone else to access your account if you only close your browser. This is especially important if you are using a shared computer.
