The opening deposit into your savings account must be received from an account in your name.
If you are a new or existing customer opening a new account, you can pay into your account once the myaccounts team have confirmed by secure message that your account has been successfully opened.
If you are an existing customer, you can pay into your existing accounts at any time.
The Society uses NatWest bank to receive funds and providing you have given us the correct reference (your 10-digit Newbury Building Society account number) the funds will be credited to your mortgage or savings account. Please note, funds can take up to one working day to show in your Newbury Building Society account.
Your bank may have limits in place for faster payments and may require to send your payment by a different payment system called CHAPS, so please check this for large payments. CHAPS details can be found on this page, or you can contact us for more information.

We accept cash in all our branches. Please contact us if you have a large number of coins to deposit to check what the limits are. We advise against sending cash via the post.
