myaccounts FAQ - Paying money in

The opening deposit into your savings account must be received from the nominated account you wish to set up.

Once you have received your verification code, you can pay in to your account online or in any of our branches in the following ways:

Bank transfer

If you are a new or existing customer opening a new account, you can pay into your account once the myaccounts team have confirmed by secure message that your account has been successfully opened.

If you are an existing customer, you can pay into your existing accounts at any time.

You will need to instruct your bank to send the money to your Newbury Building Society account. Natwest is the bank we use to transfer money and the following account details are those you will need to use:

Sort code: 62-28-74

Account number: 00000000 (this is a collection account)

Reference number: Your 10 digit Newbury Building Society account number.

You can send a cheque payable to the account holder to our Head Office (myaccounts team, 17 Bartholomew Street, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 5LY) or take it to any of our branches.

You can take cash into any of our branches. There are limits on accepting coin which are detailed in our savings terms and conditions. We advise that you do not send cash through the post.
