We are proud to announce a new long-term charity partnership between our Thatcham branch, and local children’s charity, Swings & Smiles (registered charity 1120598).

The branch were previously partnered with Newbury Cancer Care. The Society’s Newbury branch, located on Northbrook Street, remain partnered with Newbury Cancer Care.

Swings & Smiles was set up in 2007 to support children aged 0-18 with disabilities and their families, offering a safe place to play and socialise without the pressures often experienced in wider community settings. Their services include respite, family play sessions, youth clubs, sibling support, and outreach. They have a dedicated centre off of Lower Way in Thatcham.

Swings & Smiles are delighted to have been chosen by Newbury Building Society, Thatcham Branch, as their charity partner. At Swings & Smiles, we value working with our local business community, to support the lives of families affected by disability which can lead to isolation. We provide essential support to disabled children and their families, including respite services, family play, youth clubs, sibling support and outreach.

Swings & Smiles relies on fundraising efforts to continue providing the variety of services that we offer. The generous support from Newbury Building Society will allow us to continue our fundraising efforts and work with their fantastic team to spread awareness of the charity to families who might need this help.
