Say hello to the fabulous Basingstoke NeighbourCare; our new Basingstoke branch charity partner.

Who are Basingstoke NeighbourCare?

Basingstoke NeighbourCare were set up in 1997, providing accompanied transport to older people in need. Since then, they've grown significantly and now offer a befriending service, as well as community cafes, social groups, and handyman/gardening services to their roster.

Their ultimate aim is to support older people in staying independent and remaining in their homes for as long as possible.

What is the charity partnership scheme and how does it work?

Each of our ten branches - as well as our head office - are partnered with a local charity chosen by members and employees. Our partners are varied and unique, supporting homeless and vulnerably housed people, young people with disabilities, older people, and those with life-limiting conditions.

The aim of the scheme is to raise awareness and funds on a long-term basis through fundraising activities in our branches and the local area. You may occasionally see our people out and about at community events near you doing just that!

How can you support Basingstoke NeighbourCare?

The official change from our previous charity partner, St Michael's Hospice, to Basingstoke NeighbourCare, will take place on 1 November 2026, to align with the Society's new financial year.

If you already have a charity savings account supporting St. Michael's Hospice, we will write to you in the autumn detailing the changes and outlining any actions you need to take.

If you would like to start supporting Basingstoke NeighbourCare from 1 November, you can find out more about our charity savings account here.
