Our first round of Community Support Scheme for 2026 has provided funbding to a number of charity and community organisations across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Hampshire.

Funding is available throughout the year through four application windows and awards typically range between £100 and £500. Here are the successful organisations in our January 2026 round of funding.

Mindspace Foundation

Based in Basingstoke, Mindspace Foundation are a not-for-profit online and face-to-face counselling service in Basingstoke, aiming to increase the accessibility of mental health support for the local community. Our £500 donation will support the launch of a new community Wellbeing Hub, offering accessible classes for vulnerable people. 

Disability Challengers 

Our donation of £500 to Disability Challengers (registered charity no: 1095134) will go directly towards their play scheme sessions for disabled children aged between 4-12 in Winchester. The sessions offer a safe, fun, and inclusive space for children through the school holidays, as well as providing respite for families.

The Abingdon Bridge

Through counselling and practical support, The Abingdon Bridge (registered charity no: 1160080) help young people build the confidence and resilience they need to take positive action. Our donation of £500 will help strengthen their service and directly support vulnerable people in Abingdon and the surrounding areas. 

Vale Community Impact

Vale Community Impact (registered charity no: 1161144) offer free, independent advice on a range of topics such as debt and employment rights. They also provide transport to elderly or vulnerable residents when public transport may not be an option.

£500 will cover key costs such as mileage, volunteer training, and outreach to raise awareness of their servies, helping keep the service available to those who depend on it most. 

Citizens Advice Bureau West Berkshire

We donated £500 to Citzens Advice Bureau West Berkshire (registered charity no: 1115036) to help produce their 'Managing Your Money' information packs, which support residents facing challenges with debt, budgeting and the rising cost of living. 

Oxford City and County Bowls Club

Our donation of £500 to Oxford City and County Bowls Club will support their long-running bowls competition. This funding will help the club continue to deliver a community-focussed event to encourage participation in the sport. 

"We are very grateful to be awarded £500 from Newbury Building Society. This money will help us continue supporting local families and transform the lives of disabled children, young people and their families through the power of play."
