A cheque for more than £7,000 was presented to the Countess of Brecknock Hospice earlier this week by Cliff Osborne, Senior Branch Manager of Newbury Building Society’s Andover branch.
The branch, located on the High Street, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
When asked about the donation, Cliff said:
Fundraising took place throughout 2022, and activities including a Christmas hamper prize draw and sales of the Society’s calendar. A portion of the funds raised came from Newbury’s charity savings account. Members who open this account can nominate one of the Society’s nine partner charities to which the Society will then donate a percentage of savings balances on an annual basis.
The Countess of Brecknock Hospice (registered charity no: 1067238) is the charity partner of Newbury Building Society’s Andover branch. They provide free end-of-life and palliative care to people suffering from life-limiting illnesses throughout Andover and the surrounding area.
