Our third round of Community Support Scheme funding for 2025 awarded donations to three local charities.

The Community Support Scheme offers funding to organisations in and around our ten branch towns. Applications are open four times each year, and typical grant amounts range from £100-£500. The third round of applications for 2025 closed at the end of July, and we were excited to make donations to the following organisations.

Basingstoke Voluntary Action

Basingstoke Voluntary Action (BVA) (registered charity no: 1077442) are a charity who suport other local community groups and charities in the Basingstoke and Deane area. We donated £400 to Basingstoke Voluntary Action to support their 'My Marketing Tools (MMT)' project, which will help fund marketing workshops for 10 local charities and community groups to help them build their online presence.

Thrive (Wokingham)

Thrive (registered charity no: 277570), based in Reading, is a gardening health charity which aims to bring together children and adults living with disabilities, ill health or lonely. Our donation of £500 will go towards their 'Pots & Petals' project, which is an interactive sensory garden designed for children with special educational needs (SEN). This funding will help create a safe and stimulating outdoor space where children can connect with nature, build confidence, and enjoy therapeutic experiences.

Anton River Conservation Association (Andover)

The Anton River Conservation Association (TARCA) is a voluntary group that carry out practical wildlife conservation work on and around Andover's River Anton. Our donation of £300 to will support their work and community events. The funding will help purchase tools, PPE (including waders), and resources for their free Family Discovery Day, including pond dipping kits, gazebos, and tables.

"We are delighted that Newbury Building Society are supporting our 'Pots & Petals' programme that offers children and young adults engagement in nature-based activities. Without the support of organisations such as Newbury Building Society, we wouldn't be able to run our services."
