We are looking for an exceptional Head of Retail Savings to lead and transform our retail savings business at a pivotal time in our journey.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of our retail savings sales and distribution strategy, leading the performance of our branch network and digital channels while shaping the future of savings for our customers and communities.
As a key senior leader, you'll combine commercial insight, customer focus and people leadership to drive sustainable growth, influence strategic direction and play a visible role within the Society and the wider industry.
Why this role matters
You will lead the delivery of our retail savings growth strategy across branch and digital channels, ensuring excellent customer outcomes at every touchpoint. Leading a network of 10 branches and over 60 colleagues, you'll drive commercial performance, build high-performing teams and help shape the future of our savings proposition through close collaboration with Product, Marketing, Operations, Risk and Finance.
Own and deliver the Society's retail savings strategy and performance.
Lead savings acquisition, retention and balance growth across all channels.
Inspire, coach and develop a large multi-site team to achieve outstanding results.
Drive digital growth through optimising online and mobile customer journeys.
Use market, customer and competitor insights to identify opportunities and influence strategic decisions.
Build relationships with businesses, charities, SMEs and corporate organisations across our communities.
Represent the Society externally at industry events, forums and networking opportunities.
Ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance and customer outcomes remain at the heart of everything we do.
We are looking for a proven senior leader who brings:
Significant leadership experience within retail financial services, ideally savings.
A track record of delivering growth, performance and market share improvements.
Experience leading large, customer-facing, multi-site teams.
Essential skills and experience:
Senior leadership experience within retail financial services, ideally savings.
Proven track record of delivering savings growth and market share.
Strong understanding of the UK retail savings market, competitive landscape and awareness of macroeconomic drivers impacting savings behaviour.
Experience of building and executing strategic plans with measurable outcomes.
Strong track record of leading large, multi site customer facing teams.
Experience of driving growth in business accounts, including developing strong broker, intermediary and SME relationships.
Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting complex data sets to generate insight, inform decision making and drive commercial and customer outcomes.
Experience of managing performance, including coaching and addressing underperformance.
Experience of influencing senior stakeholders to drive outcomes.
Experience managing risk and control frameworks within a regulated environment.
Desirable skills and experience:
Proven track record of delivering market share across branch, digital channels and business accounts.
Great breadth of senior leadership experience across multiple functions
Established business network that could be leveraged.
