Newbury Building Society is a signatory to HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter

Newbury Building Society has signed up to the Women in Finance Charter, which demonstrates our commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace including gender equality.

What is the Women in Finance Charter?

The Women in Finance Charter was launched by HM Treasury as a pledge for gender balance across the financial services sector. The Charter reflects the government's aspiration to see gender balance at all levels across financial services firms.

For more information about the Women in Finance Charter visit the Gov.uk website.

Our target

As of 30 September 2026, we have 53% female representation in senior management.

Our gender diversity target is set to maintain a gender diversity balance of between 45–65% female by 2029. We consider senior management as those that are at Executive level and/or report directly to a member of our Executive Team.

Inclusion and Diversity at Newbury Building Society

Inclusion and Diversity is a core part of how we work at Newbury Building Society. We are committed to creating an environment where every colleague feels valued, respected, and able to fulfil their potential. We recognise that a diverse workforce, including strong gender representation at all levels, brings a wider range of perspectives and helps us deliver better outcomes for our customers and communities.

To support this, we have an Inclusion and Diversity maturity model and a range of workforce metrics that are regularly monitored and discussed by senior leadership. These measures help us assess progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure we are creating a fair and equitable workplace. Gender diversity forms an important part of this and is considered alongside our broader commitment to building an inclusive culture where everyone can perform at their best.
