Background and experience

Dean joined Newbury Building Society in May 2022, following over 14 years at Nationwide Building Society where he held a variety of product and marketing roles. During that time, he worked across both unsecured and secured lending, led product development initiatives, and spent several years focused on member engagement and communications.

It’s a privilege to work alongside such dedicated teams who care deeply about our members and communities. My focus is on continuing to deliver simple, accessible products and services, building relationships with brokers and customers, and making sure our operations are ready to meet the evolving needs of our members both today and in the future.

Role and responsibilities

As Chief Operating Officer, Dean works across sales, product and marketing, branches, underwriting and operations. Together, his areas are involved in everything from managing mortgage and savings performance, building strong relationships with customers and brokers, and shaping the Society's product range, to keeping members informed, supporting communities, and making sure branches and servicing teams run smoothly day to day. 

Dean also works closely with colleagues across the Society to ensure our operations are efficient, well-managed, and ready to adapt to change, whether that’s responding to member needs, regulatory requirements, or new technology.
