Our Thatcham branch team will be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 12 April 2026, raising funds for their charity partner, Swings and Smiles (registered charity number: 1120598).

Customer Service Advisers Kellie, Raffaele, and Jack will be lacing up their trainers on 12 April for what will be their biggest fundraising challenge yet, following an already busy year of activities in support of their charity partner.

Alongside their half‑marathon training, the team have also organised an Easter bake sale, a 'Brew and Bond' event, and a glow‑stick‑fuelled Clubbercise session. The high‑energy session featured dancing, fun, and a raffle with some fantastic prizes, raising over £575 for Swings and Smiles.

With race day approaching, Raffaele has also recorded a cover of the classic 1980s hit True Colours by Cyndi Lauper. The performance aims to shine a spotlight on the team’s fundraising efforts and the incredible work Swings and Smiles does to support children and families across West Berkshire.

Supporting Swings and Smiles means a lot to us, because every child deserves the chance to shine, no matter what challenges they face. Helping the most vulnerable brings people together and makes our communities kinder and stronger. I’m really proud to work for Newbury Building Society, that believes in this and chooses to make a positive difference.
