Update 27 July 2026 - voting closed and winner announced!

After an extremely close vote, we are proud to announce that Basingstoke branch's new charity partner from November 2026 will be the wonderful Basingstoke Neighbourcare. Congratulations!

We look forward to working closely with Basingstoke Neighbourcare, and would like to say a big thank you to the other three fantastic charities for taking part in the vote: The Pink Place, Sebastian's Action Trust, and Basingstoke Voluntary Association.

If you have a charity savings account supporting St Michael's Hospice, we will write to you ahead of the change to let you know what your options are.

Look out for more information coming soon. If you have any questions, please email marketing@newbury.co.uk.

After an incredible 15 years of supporting St. Michael's Hospice, our Basingstoke branch are now looking to partner with a new local charity. And we'd love for you, our Basingstoke members, to help choose who that will be.

As a mutual, supporting our local communities is at the heart of what we do, and our branch Charity Partnership Scheme is one way we do just that.

Thanks to the generosity of our members and the dedication of our branch team, we've been able to raise over £40,000 for St. Michael's Hospice (registered charity: 1002856) through fundraising initiatives and our Charity Account. Alongside this, our colleagues have given their time through volunteering, event support, networking and raising awareness for the charity.

Your vote counts!

Our branch team have shortlisted four local charities to partner with. The charities are:

Basingstoke Voluntary Action (registered charity: 1077442) supports the voluntary and charity sector throughout Basingstoke and Deane Borough, providing training and advice.

The Pink Place (registered charity: 1153494) provides essential support to women living with cancer through wellbeing services and activities.

Basingstoke Neighbour Care (registered charity: 1154382) are a key charity providing support to the elderly in the Basingstoke community through accompanied transportation services, a befriending service for lonely or isolated members and weekly Community Cafes to provide a friendly and relaxed space for the elderly to socialise.

Sebastian's Action Trust (registered charity: 1151146) exists to provide essential support to families caring for life-limited or life-threatening children and young people through community events, restorative breaks for families, therapy sessions and bereavement support.

Voting now closed

Please note that voting has now closed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to cast their vote.

We will announce our new Basingstoke charity partner on Monday 27 July.
