We're pleased to confirm we have increased the maximum amount you can pay into your Existing Member Account (EMA) and your Welcome to Newbury Account. 

  • We have increased the EMA maximum deposit limit for the 2025-26 tax year from £8,000 to £10,000.

  • We have made a increase to the maximum balance for the Welcome to Newbury account from £7,000 to £8,000.

Both changes come into effect on 6 February 2026.

What does that mean for you?

  • If you have an EMA account, you can now ‘top-up’ to a maximum of £10,000 until 5 April 2026. 

  • If you have a Welcome to Newbury account, you can also now pay in the difference between your current balance up to a maximum of £8,000. 

Paying money into your accounts

You can deposit further funds into your account(s) in the following ways:

  • By debit card through your myaccounts online service or app.

  • By bank transfer or CHAPS.

  • In branch - we accept debit card, cash and cheques in all our branches. 

  • By post - you can send a cheque payable to the account holder to our head office (myaccounts team, 90 Bartholomew Street, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 5EE).
