If you wish to make a withdrawal from your savings account, we would be delighted to see you in one of our branches.
Just bring along your passbook and we can organise this. The amount you can withdraw will depend on the type of savings account.
You can:
-
Withdraw up to £500 in cash from each account you hold daily.
-
Make a withdrawal by cheque (minimum of £25 up to cleared balance), including to a third party.
-
Withdraw by faster payment transfer (up to £50,000) or CHAPS (over £50,000) providing your bank account is already linked to your savings account – we can set this up for you in branch or this can be done through myaccounts.
Withdrawals made by nominees should be for the benefit of the beneficiary (account holder). Where a nominee is operating an account on behalf of a child, we may ask you the purpose of the withdrawal and refuse it if we feel it is not for the benefit of the child.
Some accounts require you to give us notice before you can make a withdrawal so please check your account conditions carefully.
If you have opened your account online you will not automatically receive a passbook.
If you opened an account online and want to transact in a branch, you will need to request a passbook by sending a secure message through myaccounts. The passbook will then be posted to your registered address as an additional security measure. You can also request a passbook by visiting your local branch. When first visiting your branch, please bring along ID, for example a current passport or photocard driving licence, so we can verify your signature.
Our savings terms and conditions provide full details on what you can withdraw.
