Quarter of a century celebration for Sales Manager Karen Smith

Karen Smith joined the Society in 1998 from Lloyds Bank. Her career started in Abingdon branch as a Manager’s Assistant, before spending time as Area Manager in the branch network for more than 15 years. 

Karen then set up Newbury’s Intermediary Sales team in 2016, who look after the intermediary mortgage distribution channel. The team has gone from strength to strength under her tenure, with the team sourcing around 80% of the mortgage business the Society requires every year.

Karen is well regarded within her team and across the Society, as well as by the many members and brokers she has assisted over the years. Following a presentation at the Society’s Newbury head office, Phillippa presented Karen with a gift and gave a speech in recognition of her achievements.
