Are you a solicitor looking for some more information on joining our panel, or editable copies of our forms?
Customers can choose their own firm of Solicitors/Licensed Conveyancers provided they meet the criteria as detailed below and will act on the lenders behalf as well.
The Society operates a panel for Solicitors and Licensed Conveyancers. Membership to the panel is open to Solicitors and Licensed Conveyancers who apply and meet the following criteria:
-
Solicitors must be registered at the Law Society and be members of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS).
-
Licensed Conveyancers must be registered with the CLC (Council of Licensed Conveyancers).
-
Each firm must have a minimum of two License Holders / Approved Managers to safeguard our ability to make ‘fraud’ claims on professional indemnity insurance (PII).
-
We must hold a current PII certificate for each firm at the time of their panel application, the minimum indemnity insurance amount is £2m per claim. The firm must not be under investigation or have a judgement against them by the relevant regulator. We will check this by searching the Solicitor’s Regulation Authority (SRA), Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal and the CLC’s databases using Google searching.
-
All conveyancing firms must have been operating for a period of 5 years or greater.
There is no way of checking online to see if they are already on panel, please call us on 01635 918000 or contact the team and someone from the team will assist you.
