Words of Recovery competition terms and conditions. 

  1. Entries to Words of Recovery Competition will be accepted until Friday October 1st for a chance to perform your piece live at the Thatcham Festival or by October 29th for a chance to be in our Words of Recovery booklet. 

  2. The competition has two categories, those aged under 13 and those over, whose 50 words or less are submitted by the above dates.  

  3. If under 13, permission must be obtained from a parent/guardian before entering.

  6. The words or poems which our judges feel capture our imagination will be invited to:  Be part of a Word of Recovery booklet, Invited to present at a live event on the opening and/or closing days of Thatcham Festival on Saturday October 9th or Sunday October 17th (Providing entries are made on or before 1st October 2021) and receive a National Book Token. 

  7. Only one entry permitted per person.

  8. Multiple entries from the same person are not permitted.

  9. The judges’ decision is final.

  10. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical reason.

  11. Entries which are to be included in the Recovery Words booklet will be notified by November 15th and book tokens will be sent to those included. 

  12. The winners will also be announced on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) within one-month of the closing date but only with the winners’ consent to do so.

  13. The prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

  14. Newbury Building Society accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liability, injury, or disappointment incurred or suffered because of entering the competition or accepting the prize.

  15. Newbury Building Society retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize is offered unavailable.

  16. Newbury Building Society shall handle any personal information you supply as described in its Privacy Notice and in accordance with data protection legislation and these competition terms and conditions. A copy of the Privacy Notice can be found here on our website. 

  17. Any personal information you provide to us for this competition will solely be used for the purpose of this competition. 

  18. If you wish to withdraw your consent, you will be able to do so at any time by: emailing us or calling us on 01635 555700.

  19. Entrants to the competition shall be deemed to have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
