Background and experience
Prior to joining the Intermediary Helpdesk in 2016 I worked in the Society's Underwriting team as an administrative assistant. My role was customer service focussed, assisting the mortgage underwriters by handling customer enquiries and undertaking administration on mortgage accounts.
At Newbury Building Society we are able to individually underwrite our cases making us a flexible kind of lender. I enjoy being able to discuss new business enquiries with brokers and demonstrate our open approach to some of the more unusual cases we see. I believe this makes us unique, and I am proud to work for an organisation that takes a personal view on a situation, in the hope of granting a customer with a mortgage.
Role and responsibilities
I provide first line support to our Intermediary Helpdesk, handling the enquiries we receive from brokers and intermediaries. I also assist with monthly reporting on enquiry levels and trends. I work alongside the Business Development and Sales Managers, providing administrative support to enable introduced business to flow smoothly.
