For the first time, Newbury Building Society’s annual photography competition encouraged members to share photographs of sustainable living in and around our branch towns, in support of our Green Ambition.
From ‘bee friendly’ gardens to fruit and vegetable picking, photographers entered a variety of beautiful images taken in Abingdon, Alton, Andover, Basingstoke, Didcot, Hungerford, Newbury, Thatcham, Winchester, and Wokingham.
A judging panel, made up of representatives from Newbury Building Society, reviewed all entries and managed to pick an overall winner and 11 highly commended entries based on composition, originality, and suitability for including in the calendar.
Congratulations to Rodney Hart who has been crowned #YourNBS Sustainable Community Photographer of the Year for his photo taken in Wokingham, see below for the meaning behind his image. You can see it on the front cover of this year’s calendar.
The calendar is now available in all branches and is free – although a small donation towards your branch’s charity is welcomed. There is a limit of two calendars per customer to ensure stocks last for all.
