Newbury Building Society takes time out to help its local community.
The Westmead Centre welcomed eight volunteers from Newbury Building Society’s Wokingham branch to help improve its premises.
Staff from the Wokingham branch, based on Broad Street, were invited to help with the centre’s painting project. They decorated a room and a corridor in two shifts; a group of five in the morning, with another three members of staff taking over in the afternoon, allowing their branch to stay open.
After all the hard work and a lick of paint, the centre was in tip-top condition. Branch Assistant at the Wokingham branch, Justine Ransom, said: “Our staff were delighted to have been asked back to the Westmead Centre for the third consecutive year to help with a much-needed project.”
The Centre provides day care for adults with disabilities.
