Newbury Building Society is giving customers the opportunity to discuss identity protection with its fraud advisor during October.
Identity fraud happens when criminals steal your personal information to commit fraud. It can have serious implications on both your mind and your money, which is why Newbury Building Society is offering the opportunity for customers to discuss identity fraud with a fraud specialist at several branches during October as part of National Identity Fraud Prevention Month.
Currently, the average amount a victim of identity fraud is expected to lose is £1,200. Many hours are spent by victims trying to resolve fraud issues and the personal distress and inconvenience experienced are often unmeasurable. Guidance will be provided on ways you can protect your identity as well as some of the services available to help you.
Our fraud advisor will be in the following branches:
Newbury – Monday 3 October 2016 – 9.30am till 2pm
Thatcham – Tuesday 4 October 2016 – 9.30am till 2pm
Abingdon – Thursday 6 October 2016 – 9.30am till 2pm
Basingstoke – Friday 7 October 2016 – 9.30am till 2pm
Andover – Tuesday 11 October 2016 – 9.30 till 2pm
Wokingham – Thursday 13 October – 9.30 till 2pm
Winchester – Friday 14 October – 9.30 till 2pm
To coincide with these events, every day in October the Society will be providing simple steps to help keep your identity safe.
