We've made changes to our savings rates and accounts!

We are delighted to confirm that, as of 7 December 2022, we have increased our savings rates by up to 0.75%.

ARE YOU A CURRENT EMA ACCOUNT HOLDER?

If you have an Existing Member Account (EMA), you can now 'top-up' your subscription to a maximum of £4,000 this fiscal year (ending 5 April 2023). 

DO YOU QUALIFY FOR AN EMA ACCOUNT?

If you're an existing savings customer who has been a member for 12 months or more or you have a mortgage with us at present, you qualify for an EMA account.  Full details of the EMA account are here.

SAVINGS ACCOUNTS NOW OPEN TO CUSTOMERS ACROSS ENGLAND AND WALES!

We've also removed the postcode restrictions which were previously applied to our savings accounts. Our savings accounts can now be opened by new customers living anywhere in England or Wales.

Did you know you can open this range of accounts online or by post from the comfort of your own home? 

  • Welcome to Newbury  - Easy access account for new members which can be opened in person in our branches, by post or online.

  • Existing Member Account (EMA) - Easy access account for existing savings and mortgage members of at least one year.

  • Instant Premium - Easy access account for new and existing members. Minimum opening balance £50 and maximum balance is £1,500,000.

  • Senior Saver  - Easy access account for new and existing members aged 55 and over. Interest paid monthly.

  • Charity account - Improving your finances and helping to improve the lives of others. Interest is payable to you as well as an annual donation being made to a one of our partnered charities. As this account has a 35 day notice period, it takes away the temptation of impulse buying.

  • Home Saver  - This account is ideal if you are saving for your first home. It offers the facility for regular payments to be made with limited access to the funds until the time they are needed for that special purchase.

  • Treasure Plus  - If you have more than £10,000 to save then this account is worth considering. It offers a tiered interest rate structure depending on how much you have to save and also allows for instant access to funds if the balance remains over £10,000. 90 days' notice is required on withdrawals that take the balance below £10,000. 

  • Access 90 - Single or joint names - restricted account with 90 days' notice required to make withdrawals. Minimum opening and operating balance is £1,000.

  • Fixed-rate bond  - until 28 January 2026, minimum opening balance is £10,000 and maximum is £250,000. No withdrawals or further deposits can be made during the fixed rate term. NOW CLOSED June 2023.
