Newbury Building Society has joined Berkshire Community Foundation’s Business Philanthropy Club to further its support of Berkshire communities and charities.
Newbury Building Society’s commitment to supporting the communities it serves has been bolstered by its membership of The Business Philanthropy Club. Part of the Berkshire Community Foundation (Charity No. 294220), the Club brings together local businesses to inspire and encourage local people to change the lives of people living in Berkshire.
The Society’s membership enables it to meet with like-minded local businesses and help local communities through giving, volunteering and fundraising. An annual donation from the Society will be used to support local needs, create an endowed fund to provide a sustainable source of support to charities and voluntary groups, while also developing new streams of funding for Berkshire.
Roland Gardner, Chief Executive at the Society, said: “We are very proud of the relationships we have built within the communities we serve. We look forward to our participation with Berkshire Community Foundation and its Business Philanthropy Club to strengthen these ties. Social responsibility at a grassroots level is vital if the Society is to make a positive difference within local areas.”
Roland recently attended a Business Philanthropy Club dinner at Wellington College to be welcomed to the club and receive the Society’s membership certificate, which was presented to Roland by Lady Catherine Stevenson, Deputy Lieutenant of Berkshire, Patron and Trustee of Berkshire Community Foundation.
