Covid19 (Coronavirus): How we continue to support you

Whilst Covid19 restrictions are lifting and many people have received their Covid vaccinations, we remain mindful that as Covid-19 continues to impact all of us, we need to continue to monitor the situation and act in a way that supports Government, whilst keeping our employees and customers safe. This means that we have opened up our services but have retained some existing protections in branches as a precautionary measure.

KEEPING US ALL SAFE - UPDATED 19 JULY 2021

With restrictions lifting, please be respectful and consider how other people may be feeling.

If you’re showing any coronavirus symptoms at all, if you are self-isolating or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive or is self-isolating, please do not visit any of our branches.

When you do visit a branch:

  • We’d encourage you to still wear a face covering
  • Be mindful of other people and keep your distance
  • Use hand sanitiser when entering and leaving

Our employees are required to wear face-coverings except when serving members behind a screen or when sitting at a desk. You will notice some counter positions remain closed and that we will encourage savings appointments by telephone and mortgage appointments by video. We continue to take precautions in all our branches by using sanitisers and regularly cleaning back and front office areas and banking halls.

These measures have been retained to limit the likelihood of employees requiring to self-isolate and necessitate localised branch closures.

BRANCH OPENING HOURS

Our Winchester, Didcot and Hungerford branches remain closed between 3pm and 5pm on weekdays. These hours will be reviewed again in September 2021.

Continue to check our branch opening times regularly to ensure you are not disappointed should your local branch be temporarily closed due to employees needing to self-isolate. 

ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO ACCESS MONEY FROM YOUR SAVINGS ACCOUNT

If you are unable to, or prefer not to, come into the branch to use our counter service, you can operate your account by post or ask a third party to access money for you.

We encourage you to register to use the Society’s online service ‘myaccounts’. This enables you to transfer funds from your savings account to a nominated current account. Please note you should allow 3-4 days for registration and you may need to provide verification of your current account.

TELL US IF YOU MAY HAVE PROBLEMS PAYING YOUR MORTGAGE

Whilst Government assistance through mortgage payment deferrals has ended, we encourage you to contact us at an early stage if you are going to have problems paying your mortgage. We have a number of options open to support you through temporary financial difficulties. Please refer to our mortgage payment problems page for more information on how we can help.

BE SCAM AWARE

Criminals are still using Covid as a way of duping people out of their hard-earned money. It is important to remain vigilant. If you're worried about fraud, visit our online security hub for guidance on how to keep your personal information and money safe.
