Our Basingstoke branch are in the running for an award in this year's Festival Place Retailer Gold Awards. And what a year they have had!
CAN WE COUNT ON YOUR VOTE?
Providing excellent customer service is at the centre of everything we do. The last 18 months have been particularly challenging for all – our branch remained open to support our members who required access to their funds throughout.
As well as working through the lockdown and continuing to provide excellent support to our branch customers, the Basingstoke team have also raised money for their local branch charity, St Michael’s Hospice, individually, in branch and as a team. The branch team also took part in the Big Basingstoke Sleep-Out from their homes, due to the event being postponed, and in December the branch received and delivered the largest number of Christmas present donations for their Giving Tree we have seen, at a time when the gifts were needed more than ever.
Earlier this year Newbury Building Society were very proud winners of both the Best Building Society and Best Specialist Mortgage Lender categories in the 2021 British Bank Awards. These awards are voted for by customers alone, which is a great testament to the service our teams have provided during lockdown and since.

We dealt with several challenges, but our colleagues really pulled together and also found time to raise money for our branch charity and get behind the successful Giving Tree in December. I am thankful to my whole team and our colleagues in the wider business."

HOW TO VOTE
The Retailer Gold Awards are designed to celebrate the very best retail outlets housed in the Festival Place shopping complex. The winners are decided by the customers - not ‘industry experts’ – who work, shop and live in and around the Basingstoke area.
Voting for the awards will open online on Monday 6th September and our Basingstoke branch is entered into the following categories:

Hero of the year (Customers chance to vote for their retailer hero!)

Voting closes Sunday 3 October 2021 and a virtual ceremony will take at the place on a date to be announced.
