#YourNBS Junior Photographer of the Year crowned

Newbury Building Society is delighted to crown its #YourNBS Junior Photographer of the Year winner following its annual calendar competition.

For the first time, the Society’s popular amateur photography competition encouraged young people aged between six and 16 to share photographs of nature’s treasures in and around Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.

From stunning landscapes to captivating wildlife, the judging panel were given the near impossible task of whittling down 74 entries to one overall winner and 11 highly commended entries.

Congratulations to Millie Hughes, aged 10, whose winning image takes pride of place on the front of Newbury Building Society’s 2020 calendar.

On the submission of her photo, Millie said: “I decided to take this photo because conkers are a real part of nature. The conkers were fresh from its hard and spiky shells. ‘Natures treasures’ was a good topic for me because I love nature.”

The calendar is available in all Newbury Building Society branches and is free – although a small donation towards your branch’s charity is welcomed. However, due to Covid-19 safeguarding guidelines, please only visit a branch to pick-up a calendar if your transaction is essential. There is a limit of two calendars per customer to ensure stocks last for all.
