New executive and Head of IT and Business Change appointed

Head shot of Jim Bendon

Newbury Building Society has welcomed Jim Bendon as its new Head of IT and Business Change.

Jim has a wealth of experience in the delivery of business transformation projects having spent nearly 20 years in the retail sector as IT Director at Majestic Wines and subsequently as Head of Information Technology at the not-for-profit Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

Jim commented: “I am delighted to have joined the Executive team at Newbury Building Society during an exciting period of change and development.

“The Society has embarked on an exciting period of change and most transformation projects have a dependency on technology. Equally, as technology modernises, it has a dependency of robust project management. As the two are completely interlinked it makes sense to have the two functions under the same umbrella to optimise service delivery to the Society; a challenge I look forward to getting my teeth into.”

Jim will be responsible for defining the Society’s IT and business change strategy as well as be accountable for all technological activities.

Roland Gardner, Chief Executive of Newbury Building Society: “I’m delighted to welcome Jim to the Executive team. His expertise and experience in IT and delivering change will be invaluable in the Society’s ongoing technological evolution and digitisation. I look forward to working with Jim who will be instrumental in delivering the improved services to members that technology will bring us.”
