Information on Newbury Building Society's 163rd Annual General Meeting.
The event encourages members of the public to spend one night under stars in Basingstoke’s War Memorial Park on Saturday 21st March 2020. All donations made will help raise much needed funds for both Julian House and the Camrose Centre to help facilitate the continuation of ongoing projects designed to support homeless and excluded men and women in the local area.
About the partnership, Cecil Weir, Fundraising and PR Director for Julian House said: “Events like the Big Basingstoke Sleep-Out are a very powerful way of communicating how tough it is being homeless. Although the participants are only doing it for one night, they still gain a good understanding about what it must be like to have to be outside every night. It is fantastic that Newbury Building Society have agreed to be the main sponsor. Helping us to offset the costs of staging the event is terrific. Additionally, they will help us to promote the event and, more importantly, raise awareness of the complex issues which impact on homelessness."
Emma Simms, Marketing and Communications Manager at Newbury Building Society said: “Homelessness is not solely a city-centric issue as it is just as prevalent in our local communities. It’s a huge issue which must be tackled and as a business at the centre of helping people buy their homes, we are delighted to support an event designed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by some of our most vulnerable. With this in mind, we warmly welcome all who wish to join us for the big night this coming March.”
