Martin Yates, Senior BDM, shares his thoughts regarding the UK's holiday-let boom.
Our Wokingham branch has once again joined in to support the Wokingham Giving Tree Appeal by hosting a tree with tags to give local residents the opportunity to put a smile on children’s faces this Christmas Day.
The appeal is now in its 18th year and is once again giving local people the chance to make a child smile this Christmas. Taking part is simple. Choose a tag from many of the trees across the town taking part, including our Wokingham branch, buy the gift on the tag and return it to the same tree (unwrapped).
Volunteers then ensure the presents are delivered to local charities, who make sure they go to children whose stockings might otherwise have been empty on Christmas morning. Last year, more than 2,500 tags were collected and hopes are high Wokingham folk will be even more generous this time around.
The local charities benefitting from this year's appeal include;
- Berkshire Women’s Aid
- Building For The Future
- Children with Special Needs Foundation
- Dingley Family and Specialist Early Years Centre
- First Days
- Home Start
- Kaleidoscopic UK
- Look Ahead Care and Support
- Sebastians Action Trust
- Transform Housing
- Wokingham Young Carers
If you can buy an extra gift to make someone else’s Christmas, come and collect a tag from our tree and send the gift with love. Gifts should be donated by the 15 December to be included in the deliveries this year. Many thanks for your support.
