Newbury embraces the power of music for Berkshire Maestros

Newbury Building Society was delighted to award local music group, Berkshire Maestros, £500 from its Community Support Scheme funding pot.

The one-off donation went towards the organisation’s ongoing crowdfunding campaign to raise £17,773 for its new Mini Maestros initiative. The project hopes to provide ten weeks of free music classes for children aged 0-3 years across Berkshire starting January 2020. The music group hopes to host 21 classes with an estimated 300 babies, toddlers, parents and carers catered for.

To-date (14 November ’19), Mini Maestros has raised £14,558 – over 80% of its target - with the campaign set to conclude 1 December ’19. Funds raised will purchase specialist instruments, confirm all venue bookings, to name only a few.

Sam Wyne, Business Development and Engagement Manger – Berkshire West at Berkshire Maestros said: “Thank you so much to Newbury Building Society for their donation towards our crowdfunding campaign. This will help us achieve our target to be able to provide ten weeks of free music classes. Newbury Building Society is at the very heart of our community and we are delighted to receive this pledge. Your help is hugely appreciated.”

Emma Simms, Marketing and Communications Manager at Newbury Building Society said: “As a supporter of the arts in the local area, we were delighted to contribute to Berkshire Maestro’s ambitious crowdfunding campaign. We hope the children and their families enjoy the immersive musical activities and, more importantly, have fun.”
