Newbury Building Society’s Newbury and Thatcham branches were delighted to present Newbury Cancer Care cheque for £2741, following a range of fundraising activities during 2018.
Fundraising activities included the in-branch events such as seasonal hamper prize draws, the competitive ‘name Santa’s baby reindeer’ Christmas competition and donations towards the popular #YourNBS annual calendar, to name only a few.
Branch staff also donated their two-day volunteering allowance towards maintaining the Rainbow garden; a much loved outdoor space which is overlooked by the Rainbow Rooms at West Berkshire Community Hospital.
Jane Bosher, Senior Branch Manager at Newbury Building Society’s Newbury, Thatcham and Hungerford branch said: “We are delighted to award Newbury Cancer Care with a cheque worth over £2700 following extensive fundraising by staff at our Newbury and Thatcham branches. The charity is fantastic in supporting local patients and families living with cancer, and it’s a cause close to many of our hearts. The amount raised is a testament to how hard the team has worked to raise as much money as possible during 2018, and we would like to thank the public for their kind donations and support.”
Newbury Cancer Care (charity number: 1157796) is a local charity which offers supports to patients and families living with cancer and other life threatening illnesses in West Berkshire.
