Just because you're self-employed, a contractor or freelancer, it doesn't mean obtaining a mortgage is harder than someone with a set salary. With the right amount of preparation and planning, the process can be easier than you think.
Newbury Building Society celebrated its 160th birthday on Tuesday 1st November 2016 with parties across its branches in Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.
Each branch hosted a party and customers joined staff on the day for tea, coffee and cupcakes.
Parties took place in all branches: Abingdon, Alton, Andover, Basingstoke, Didcot, Hungerford, Newbury, Thatcham, Winchester and Wokingham. Head Office, based in Newbury’s Bartholomew Street, also commemorated the occasion.
From small beginnings, the Society now has over 64,400 members and is stronger than ever, committed to helping local communities with their savings and to purchase homes. The Society has 120 staff with 10 branches across Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.
Commenting on the Society’s 160th birthday, Chief Executive Roland Gardner said: “The Society remains as strong and secure as ever and proudly supports the communities it serves. Our longevity is a clear indication that customers continue to appreciate our high level of service and competitive products.”
