Fraudsters are becoming more and more sophisticated. One of the simplest ways any of us can fall victim is by having our personal data stolen from us either over the phone, online or even in person. So what can you do to safeguard your information?
Once again, Newbury Building Society’s annual photography competition has been an outstanding success.
From stunning landscapes, captivating wildlife to historic landmarks, local photographers entered a breadth of beautiful images taken in and around our branch towns – Abingdon, Alton, Andover, Basingstoke, Didcot, Hungerford, Newbury, Thatcham, Winchester and Wokingham.
A judging panel, made up of representatives from Newbury Building Society, reviewed all entries and managed to whittle down to a shortlist of 24 stand-out images based on its composition, originality, public appeal and suitability for inclusion in the calendar. You, the public, then voted for your favourite snaps via social media and on the Society’s website.
Congratulations to the winning photographer, Joanne Cattle, whose image ‘Reflections’ takes pride of place on the front cover. Joanne beautifully captured the tranquillity of our local canal network and is a worthy winner of the top prize - £150’s worth of specialist camera equipment vouchers.
Calendars – wall hanging and desk - are now available in all branches and are free – although a small donation to the branch charity is welcomed. There is also a maximum of two per customer to ensure stocks last for all.
We’re delighted to share with you the top 12 images and we hope you enjoy displaying this year’s calendar within your home and place of work.
