NBS Community Champion Awards terms and conditions

Terms and conditions 

  1. Nominations to the Community Champion Award 2019 open 9am, Monday 2 September 2019 and close 5pm, Friday 17 January 2020
  2. The awards are open to unpaid volunteers at local charities and / or community groups in the Society’s 10 branch towns: Alton, Andover, Abingdon, Basingstoke, Didcot, Hungerford, Thatcham, Newbury, Wokingham, Winchester
  3. The awards (nominees and nominators) are open to people aged 16 and over, who complete an entry form and agree to these terms and conditions
  4. Nominations relating to party political activities, religious causes and commercial enterprises will not be accepted
  5. Three winners will be selected from those nominated and will receive the following prizes. The overall winner will receive a £500 voucher of their choice and a £500 donation to the charity / project they support, while two runners up will receive a £125 voucher of their choice and a £125 donation to the charity / project they support 
  6. Nominators may nominate more than one person, however, an application per person is required
  7. Single applications nominating more than one person are not accepted
  8. Employees of Newbury Building Society, their immediate families and anyone else connected to the awards are not permitted to enter
  9. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical reason
  10. One overall winner and two runners up will be chosen from entries received in accordance with these terms and conditions
  11. The Society’s judging panel’s decision is final
  12. The judging panel will review all nominations by 5pm, Friday 24th January 2020, and the winners will be informed no later than 5pm, Monday 27 January 2020
  13. The prizes will be presented to the winner and two runners up at the Society’s Annual General Meeting in February. A date, location and time of the AGM will be confirmed with the winner and two runners up once the judging panel has made their decision
  14. The winners of the awards will also be announced on the Society’s website and on the Society’s social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)
  15. The prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash or other prizes
  16. Newbury Building Society accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the awards or accepting the prize
  17. Newbury Building Society retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize offered is unavailable
  18. Newbury Building Society shall take care of any personal information you supply as described in its privacy policy and in accordance with data protection legislation. A copy of the privacy policy can be found in branch and here
  19. By submitting a nomination, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your and your nominees personal information in order to process and contact you and your nominee about the awards. All personal data provided will be destroyed once the winners have been announced
  20. We will not use the information you have supplied for any other marketing campaign or pass it on to a third party. Personal data will be securely destroyed without retaining your details unless you have separately opted to receive marketing communications from the Society by ticking the box on the online entry form
  21. The winner may be required to take part in promotional activity related to the awards and the winner shall participate in such activity the Newbury Building Society reasonably requests. However, before doing so we will seek your consent
  22. The winner and two runners up consent to the use by Newbury Building Society, both before and after the closing date of the award for an unlimited time, of their voice, image, photograph and name for publicity purposes, in any medium, and in advertising or prior notice and, in entering the award, all entrants consent to the same
  23. Entrants into the awards shall be deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions
