Temporary Customer Support Assistant (Savings Team) – 12 month contract

We are looking for a Customer Support Assistant to provide excellent customer service and meet customers’ needs by resolving queries and administering savings accounts effectively and efficiently.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Savings account administration 
  • Communicating effectively with customers
  • Compliance, in line with regulatory requirements, Codes of Practice and Society procedures 

Essential criteria for the role are:

  • Customer service experience face to face and/or by telephone 
  • Administration and/or sales experience 
  • Experience of resolving telephone queries, and following up calls 
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise work to meet service standards 
  • Able to do relevant mathematical calculations 
  • Able to judge business risks and recognise when to defer decisions 
  • Accuracy & attention to detail 
  • Enthusiastic, positive & cheerful 
  • Takes initiative and makes suggestions for improvements 
  • Supportive of others in a team 
  • Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English grade C or above 

Desirable criteria for the role are:

  • Experience in a similar role in a Bank or Building Society 
  • General understanding of the Financial Services industry

Hours: This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Location: Head Office, Newbury

Salary: Starting salary is £16,740 rising to £18,600 once fully competent, plus benefits
