Competition terms and conditions

  1. Entries to the NBS Junior Calendar Competition 2024 will be accepted from 09:00 on 15th February 2023 until 17:00 on 2nd October 2023.

  2. The competition is open to children aged 16 and under, whose photographs are taken in and around the locality of any of our 10 branch towns (Abingdon, Alton, Andover, Basingstoke, Didcot, Hungerford, Newbury, Thatcham, Winchester and Wokingham.)

  3. If under 16, permission must be obtained from a parent/guardian before entering.

  4. We can only accept online entries submitted via out online form. Paper or printed entries will not be accepted.

  5. To enter, complete the online form here.

  6. The competition winner will receive a £50 voucher of their choice and 11 highly commended entrants will each receive a £20 Waterstones voucher.

  7. Multiple entries from the same person are not permitted.

  8. The competition will be judged by a panel of Executive Directors from Newbury Building Society. The photographs will be judged anonymously. The judges’ decision is final.

  9. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical reason.

  10. The winner and 11 finalists will be contacted via email week commencing 9th October 2023. Images will be judged on the following criteria: creativity, originality, and suitability for the brief. 

  11. The prizes will be emailed to the winners (or the nominated parent/guardian of the winner if under the age of 16) in the form of an e-voucher.

  12. The prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

  13. Newbury Building Society accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liability, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize.

  14. Newbury Building Society retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize is offered unavailable.

  15. The 12 winners will have their first name and photograph published on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and on the Newbury Building Society website with the winners' consent to do so, or their parent/guardian’s consent if under the age of 16.

  16. The overall winner will have their photograph featured on the front cover of the Newbury Building Society 2024 calendar alongside their name and will feature on a month of Newbury Building Society’s choice within the calendar. The 11 highly commended will have their photograph and name featured on a month of Newbury Building Society’s choice within the calendar.

  17. Newbury Building Society shall handle any personal information you supply as described in its Privacy Notice and in accordance with data protection legislation and these competition terms and conditions. A copy of the Privacy Notice can be found here.

  18. The winners may be asked to take part in promotional activity related to the competition that Newbury Building Society reasonably requests. However, before doing so we will seek consent.

  19. Any personal information you provide to us for this competition will solely be used for the purpose of this competition. For non-finalists, personal information will be destroyed as soon as the winners are announced. For the winner and 11 highly commended, your entry form will be destroyed after 6 years.

If you wish to withdraw your consent, you will be able to do so at any time by:
