We understand the importance of community.
With this in mind, we want to recognise those unsung heroes who work tirelessly to help improve the lives of others.
Are you aware of someone who goes above and beyond to support their local community?
If so, nominate them for a NBS Community Champion Award!
With a strong commitment and desire to support the local community, the Society recognises the struggles many people face throughout their daily lives. This is why we are committed to supporting - and celebrating - those who work tirelessly to help improve the local community.
What are the NBS Community Champion Awards?
Whether it's an endeavour to improve the local environment, dedication to a youth sports team or simply helping those less fortunate, the Community Champion Awards celebrate individuals who make a difference to people in their community.
The Awards are designed to reward and recognise the champion and the organisation they support. Awards are open to unpaid volunteers, aged 16 and over, who support local charities or community groups based in our 10 branch towns: Alton, Andover, Abingdon, Basingstoke, Didcot, Hungerford, Thatcham, Newbury, Wokingham and Winchester.
Entires are reviewed by a panel of judges and the overall winner will receive a £500 voucher of their choice and a £500 donation to the charity or project they support, while two runners up will receive a £125 voucher of their choice and a £125 donation to the charity or project they support.

What happens next?
The judging panel, made up of representatives from the Society, will review all the nominations submitted and select a winner and two runners up.
The three winners will then be invited to a prize giving ceremony, which will take place at the Society’s Annual General Meeting in February 2020.
