Our qualified staff are ready to help with all your mortgage queries

Whether you are planning to buy your home or if you already own one, mortgages can be confusing. The Mortgage Help Centre is there to help local people, especially first time buyers, understand mortgages and the house buying process.

The help centre is provided by Newbury Building Society and guidance is available for people about existing mortgages, or on buying a home, regardless of which bank or building society the mortgage is with. There’s a private room to talk to staff who will answer your questions. If they don’t have the answer at hand, they’ll help you find the information you need.

Free printed guides are also available to take home. They are provided by the Money Advice Service who support the mortgage help centre. The Money Advice Service is a new service, set up by the Government and funded by the financial services industry, to help everyone manage their money better by giving clear, unbiased advice to help people make informed choices.

So if you’re struggling with the jargon on your mortgage statement or want to know what the first step is to get on the property ladder, then visit the Mortgage Help Centre for friendly face to face help with your mortgage queries.

The Mortgage Help Centre is part of Newbury Building Society’s commitment to improving financial awareness in the community. The Society already runs a programme to raise financial awareness in schools through Junior Newbury Building Society where children operate their own branch within the school. This scheme has been operating for a number of years in West Berkshire and work is already underway to open Junior Newbury Building Society branches in two Basingstoke schools. The Mortgage Help Centre is an extension of this commitment to the local community.
