St Nic's teacher, Sheila Moore and Business Manager Ros Comins, present the cashiers with a certificate each
Pupils in six Newbury schools have been busy over the last year, they were selected through an interview process to be cashiers and run a Junior Newbury Building Society once a week at their school so their fellow pupils could save their pocket money.
The cashiers have now all graduated from the project as they leave for secondary school and have handed over the reins to a new set of pupils to start in September.
In recognition for their hard work and dedication, Ros Comins, Business Manager for the building society attended a school assembly to hand out the certificates. She said, “It has been a pleasure working with these children, they have remained enthusiastic about the project throughout the year and have clearly gained a lot from it. Appreciation must be shown to Sheila Moore and the other teachers who help the cashiers run the branch so smoothly.“
