The ladies finish the enduring ride with smiles on their faces
They set out on Sunday morning with the aim of cycling 32 miles. However, they ended up cycling for 36 miles encountering many challenges from wild horses to a never-ending steep hill and the tempting pub gardens. They reached the finish line in three hours and 11 minutes and have raised a fantastic £650 for the organisation so far.
Help for Heroes is not only the charity of the year for the building society’s Alton branch, it’s also close to Becky and Julie’s hearts. Becky’s husband is in the RAF being deployed to Afghanistan twice a year and Julie is the daughter of a former RAF Sergeant. They both know the importance of the work that Help for Heroes provides to military personal and their families.
Becky Mountfield said, “We both hope to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity, as our heroes of the armed forces deserve the best.”
Julie Pink added, “Growing up as a RAF Sergeant’s daughter, I understand how difficult military life can be, that’s why I am very passionate about this fantastic charity.”
