*AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and illustrates what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded once each year (as every advert that quotes an interest rate will contain an AER, you will be able to compare more easily what return you can expect over time).

Gross rate is the contractual rate of interest payable before the deduction of Income tax specified by law (currently 20%). The "net" interest rate is the interest rate payable after allowing for the deduction of Income tax at the specified rate, currently 20%. Tax free is the contractual rate of interest payable where interest is exempt from Income tax.

Transactions on accounts subject to notice must be completed within 7 days of the expiry of the period of notice. Any sum withdrawn in excess of £350 (including that for Instant premium) will be paid by cheque. Withdrawals of £200,000 or more will take 48 hours to process. The minimum cheque withdrawal is £25 unless stated otherwise in the product leaflet.

If the balance of the account falls below the minimum (the lowest band stated above), a variable interest rate of 0.10% gross (0.08% net) will be paid.

Other terms and conditions apply to all Account Types. Click on the relevant product details buttons above to see key features and also read our General Investment terms and conditions booklet.
