How do I get started?
Firstly, you need to make sure you have registered to use the service. If you have, you will have been provided with a username and password and can start using us straight away.
If you have not registered with us before, you need to register on our website. You will then be sent a login by email and a password through the post within two working days. As soon as this is received, you can access the system. Once you enter into the system, you will see all pending cases for your firm. This allows you to select a case you have previously been working on or create a new one by selecting “new” and selecting “active” for the status field.
When a new client is being created, it is this screen that will form the basis of your KFI. For joint applications, input the name as you wish for it to appear on the KFI e.g Mr Richard Butler and Mrs Paula Butler

The code is a free text field that allows you to insert your own case/office number. However, the code must be unique so we suggest you use a set format such as the first three letters of your company name followed by the first three letters of your client's surname completed with a number e.g. ABCSMI099.
The notes screen at the bottom of the page is for you to write any supporting case notes for your own record. Once your new client has been created, it will then appear at the bottom of your firms client list allowing you to then click on the customer to proceed to KFI.
In order for you to register, we will ask you for the following:
- Name of business
- FSA number
- Who the procuration fee is payable to
- Address
- Postcode
- Telephone
- Fax
- Title
- Name
- Job Title
- Telephone
- Fax
- Mobile
Is it for me?
Newbury Building Society QBroker can be used for the following:
- New remortgage cases
- New House Purchase cases
- New Build Homebuy
- New My Choice Homebuy cases
- A mortgage application of up to two applicants
Please refer to our current lending policy for details of our qualifying criteria.
QBroker will allow you to:
- Obtain an instant Decision in Principle
- Create a client and save the information as you go
- Produce a compliant KFI
- Submit the application straight to qualified underwriters
- Access an underwriter by telephone to answer any queries that you may have
Decision in principle
This is a fast and effective way of obtaining agreement for the loan subject to status enquiries. In most cases you will be able to obtain a decision in principle confirmation for your clients. In the unusual event that your client is not accepted, please call your local branch and speak to an underwriter. There may still be a way in which we can help. Alternatively email your local branch or call 01635 555777.
Making an application
Once you have printed off the KFI, making an application is simple. By selecting the KFI of your choice, the system automatically takes you into the application.
Throughout all screens, you will see a “save and exit” option at the bottom right of the screen. This allows you to come out of the system at any point without losing all the data. It will save the information and when you click on your clients again, the information will be returned.
If it is a joint loan, we do not expect you to record financial commitments twice. Simply enter joint commitments under just one applicant or split the outstanding balances and monthly payments equally.
For shared ownership cases, the question “What is the purchase price or estimated value of property being purchased" actually refers to the value of the applicants share.
For all remortgage cases, the purchase screen will still populate. For all fields marked with an *, the question will need to be answered. We understand that this information will be incorrect.
How do I know if an application has been submitted correctly?
The application will not submit until all required fields have been completed.
At the end of the application you have 2 options:
Print the application form, ask your clients to sign it and send it in the post to us. Please note we will not receive the application on line if you select this option.
Ask us to print the application form and send it to you for your clients to sign. We will receive an electronic copy of the application if you select this option.
Tracking your cases
You will receive regular updates from us at all times. In the event that you require additional updates on the case, you can email us at blueteam@newbury.co.uk , call us on 01635 555700 or contact your local branch.
Removing a client from the system
If you wish to non proceed a case or remove it from the system because it has completed, simply highlight the customer whose details you wish to access, then click “delete”.
