First/Second Line Helpdesk Technician

Head Office, Newbury

35 hours per week, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, plus occasional Saturday mornings when required

£20,500 - £25,000 pa

Newbury Building Society are seeking a First/Second Line Helpdesk Support Technician based at our Head Office in Newbury. You must be experienced with Windows 2000/2003 and Microsoft Office troubleshooting. You must also have proven experience of Exchange and Active Directory administration.

Your everyday duties will involve investigating end user problems with hardware and software and configuring and installing servers, desktops, laptops and printers. Good interpersonal skills are an absolute must! You must possess a current driving licence, as you will occasionally be required to travel to our branches, all within 30 miles of Newbury.

Any formal Microsoft certification is desirable but not essential. We will encourage the successful candidate to study for MCSA and full support will be provided.

Experience/Knowledge required:

Essential

  • Worked in helpdesk environment, supporting internal customers using Microsoft Office, Windows 2000 and Active Directory
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity applications: Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Time management skills to comply with department standards

Desirable

  • Experience of server operating systems (Windows 2000,2003)
  • Understanding of internet communications and email protocols and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of workstation operating systems (2000, XP)
